The Ministry of Industry and Trade publishes National Energy Master Plan for period of 2021 - 2030, with vision to 2050

On August 9, in Hanoi, the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) held a conference to announce the national plans in the energy and mineral sectors for 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050 approved by the Prime Minister. Minister of MOIT Nguyen Hong Dien chaired the conference.

In the national sector plans, the National Energy Master Plan for 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050, was approved by the Prime Minister at Decision No. 893/QD-TTg dated July 26, 2023.

Planning is of particular importance, opening up a new development space for a more efficient and sustainable energy industry in line with the development trend of green economy, circular economy, and low-carbon economy, as well as the viewpoints and policies of the Party and the State and the actual capabilities of the country as well as international development trends.

The plan aims to firmly ensure national energy security, synchronously and rationally develop and diversify types of energy; encourage and create all favorable conditions for all economic sectors to participate in energy development; apply the achievements of scientific and technological development in the development of all sub-sectors and fields of energy; use energy economically and efficiently.

The energy industry develops harmoniously among sub-sectors with synchronous and intelligent infrastructure, reaching the region's advanced level, in line with the world's scientific and technological development trends; Successfully implementing energy transition to make an important contribution to meeting the net zero emissions target by 2050.
