The Solar Energy Project at Vinh Tan Power Complex is invested by the Power Engineering Consulting Company No.2 (EVNPECC2), a joint stock company dominantly controlled by Vietnam Electricity (EVN). The project has an installed capacity of 6.2MW with an annual generation output of about 10.5 million kWh. The total investment cost of the project is about VND 100 billion. This project has been performed by EVNPECC2 in the form of self-engineering, self-procurement and self-construction; at the same time, it is included in the development strategy of EVNPECC2 as an investor with the view to build up to 500MW capacity of power generation facilities from now until 2022.
Thanks to the activeness and self-reliance in all stages from survey, design, mechanical manufacturing, construction, supervision, project management, procurement management, testing and operation, EVNPECC2 has completed the project with good quality, cost saving and 3 months ahead of the schedule.
With great efforts of all employees of EVNPECC2, the operation of the first solar energy project in Binh Thuan province before the Lunar New Year by EVNPECC2 has a great significance in strengthening the power supply for regional and system loads, especially in the coming time when the power supply in the South is predicted to be more difficult and challenging. At the same time, the project demonstrates advanced capabilities and capacity, as well as promotes domestic manpower strength of personnel of EVNPECC2 in particular and Vietnam's power industry in general.
