The successful energization marks the substantial completion of this section of the project, enabling power to be transmitted from the Nho Quan 500kV Substation to the Phu Ly 220kV Substation, thereby strengthening the electricity supply for the Northern Delta region while supporting power supply to Hanoi.

The Nho Quan–Phu Ly–Thuong Tin 500/220kV transmission line project is one of Vietnam's key power transmission projects with a total length of approximately 80km, of which the Nho Quan–Phu Ly section extends about 44km.

The project is invested by EVNNPT, with NPMB acting on behalf of the investor in project management and implementation. Upon completion, the facilities will be operated by Power Transmission Company No. 1 (PTC1).

The project is designed to strengthen the interconnection of the 500kV transmission network between Nho Quan and Thuong Tin, enhance transmission capacity, reinforce power supply to the Phu Ly 220kV Substation, and meet the growing electricity demand in Ninh Binh, southern Hanoi, and neighboring localities. It will also improve the reliability and operational flexibility of the 500kV–220kV transmission network in Northern Vietnam.

The successful energization of the Nho Quan–Phu Ly section not only facilitates completion of the remaining project components but also helps relieve transmission constraints, improve the safety and stability of the national power system, and ensure a secure and uninterrupted electricity supply to support socio-economic development across Northern Vietnam.
