Undergrounding more than 9km of electric cable on Lac Long Quan Street (Ho Chi Minh City)

HCMC Power Corporation (EVNHCMC) said that the underground project of Lac Long Quan street (Tan Binh district) is invested at a total of more than VND70 billion, expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2022.

This project renovates and installs 23 new distribution transformer stations with a capacity of 300 and 400kVA, pulls more than 9km of new medium-low voltage underground cables and installs 129 new low-voltage cabinets.

The project implementation site is located in a densely populated area with dense and complicated traffic, making the construction work very difficult.

Therefore, the construction units have actively coordinated and come up with many flexible solutions, adapting to the actual situation so as to speed up the performance progress. In which, the power unit has applied the plan of load sharing, operating generators combined with the construction method on live lines to isolate and disassemble the old transformers and replace them by the new ones, but still ensure uninterrupted power supply to serve the business needs of customers and daily activities of people.

With synchronous solutions, EVNHCMC is determined to complete this project in the second quarter of 2022 in order to soon complete the assigned undergroundization targets, which will make a contribution to ensuring a safe and efficient power supply, and at the same time jointly build-up urban beauty for the city.

In 2022, EVNHCMC plans to commence 32 construction investment projects, undergrounding 150km of the medium-voltage grid and 170km of the low-voltage grid; completed 26 projects with the volume of undergrounding 120km of the medium-voltage grid, 180km of the low-voltage grid.
