From 2013 to September 2017, Vinh Phuc PC has concentrated on substituting electronic meters in cities and towns. Until September 20117, 61,000 power meters of 273 public substations in Vinh Yen City and Phuc Yen Town were replaced with RF (radio – frequency) electronic meters and meter reading was done via the automatic meter reading system.
In 2016, the company commissioned and officially put into operation the automatic meter reading system at 750 metering points of the customers having dedicated substations applying time of use electricity tariff, automatically reading meters by GPRS / 3G technology. Until July 2017, the company had completed replacement and installation of 1,243 new time of use electricity meters with automatic meter reading function using GPGS / 3G technology for both public and dedicated substations which were applying single rate tariff.

By this means, customers can get information of their actual electricity consumption amounts, easily detect electricity leakage at aged equipment having deteriorated insulation quality, thereby preventing electric accidents.
In particular, customers can easily monitor consumption index and energy, absolutely ensuring the accuracy and transparency. As for power companies, AMR electronic meters help secure safety of workers; collecting data on customers' electricity use, thus making appropriate and effective investment plans for electricity supply; and avoiding errors in meter reading and recording.
In the coming time, Vinh Phuc PC will keep installing electronic meters in all the towns cities and towns in the province and at the same time speed up the application of science and technology in production and business in order to increase the labor productivity, improve the electricity supply reliability, and meet the increasing requirements of customers.
