Vinh Tan 2 Solar Power Plant is invested by EVNGENCO 3, with an installed capacity of 42.65MWp and a total investment cost of VND 986.2 billion. The project uses nearly 121,900 solar panels.

The plant is located at the western area of slag disposal area of Vinh Tan 2 Thermal Power Plant, covering an area of 49.2ha in Vinh Tan commune, Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan province. Power output of the plant is connected to the 110kV grid, i.e. Tuy Phong - Ninh Phuoc double circuit 110kV transmission line. It is expected that the plant will supply about 68.4 million kWh to the national power system.

At the ceremony, Mr. Duong Quang Thanh – EVN’s Chairman of Board of Directors said: Just after 6 months of implementation, the project has been completed and put into commercial operation. As for the power system, the operation of Vinh Tan 2 Solar Power Plant has considerable implication in strengthening the power supply for regional loads and the national power system, particularly in the near future, the electricity supply situation for the South is forecasted to face many difficulties and challenges.
