Ho Chi Minh City: Over 500 customers sign an agreement to participate in DR Program

By the end of May 2019, the Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC) has signed an agreement to join the Demand Response Program (DR) with 513 customers with the power output consumed at 1 million kWh/year or more.

Among them, 318 customers are major energy consuming establishments, with an output of 3 million kWh/year or more. The total maximum capacity can be reduced by these customers for a type 1 load (noticed 2 hours in advance) is 64.88MW and a type 2- load (noticed 24 hours in advance) is 126.2MW.

In addition, DR Program in Ho Chi Minh City is also expanded by EVNHCMC to encourage propaganda to production and industry customers having a power consumption of 1-3 million kWh/year. Currently, 195 customers have signed the agreement with the total maximum capacity can be reduced for type 1 load of 4.92MW and type 2 load of 13.54MW.

Over the past time, EVNHCMC has strengthened exchanges with customers to help them understand the benefits of power load adjustment. At the same time, EVNHCMC proactively advised the leaders of HCMC to promptly  orient and direct businesses in the locality to agree to participate in DR.

As a result, so many large customers of EVNHCMC have consented to join the Program.
