Vice Chairman of Vietnam Electricity Trade Union – Mr. Luong Ba Thanh (far right) presented gifts from Vietnam Electricity Trade Union to the construction labor force of Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant Extension project
On the occasion of Workers' Month, the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union paid a visit to the construction site to encourage the workforce of Power Project Management Board No.1, supervision consultancy units, and construction contractors. Mr. Luong Ba Thanh demanded every personnel at the construction site to try harder and always pay attention to ensuring safety, quality and progress in order to complete the project by 2024.
The Vice Chairman of Vietnam Electricity Trade Union suggested that the entire employees in the construction site should be informed and educated to raise their awareness and strictly comply with the provisions of the law on occupational safety and health, ensuring that occupational accidents and an unsanitary environment would not happen at the construction site.

Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant Extension project is an industrial project of group A, with a total investment cost of over VND 9,220 billion. The project has a total installed capacity of 480MW, including 2 power units. The average annual power generation output is expected at about 488.3 million kWh/year. Upon completion of the project, the total installed capacity of the entire Hoa Binh Hydropower Plant will reach 2,400MW.
The project is owned by Vietnam Electricity, and is assigned to Power Project Management Board No. 1 for management and implementation.
