The light-off ceremony - the main event of Earth Hour 2019 - was held at the August Revolution Square (Hanoi), on the evening of 30th March 2019. Concurrently, 63 provinces and cities in throughout the country carried out the symbolic action of turning lights off and minimizing the use of electrical equipment for 01 hour, from 20:30 pm to 21:30 pm.

In Vietnam, in the past 1 month, many businesses, organizations, etc., have implemented activities in response to the Campaign.
The whole country can save 492,000kWh, equivalent to about VND 917 million for 1 hour of light-off.
Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh (4th from the right) and leaders of ministries, departments and businesses carried out the light-off ceremony in responding Earth Hour 2019.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh emphasized: "Earth Hour campaign once again affirms Vietnam's determination to improve energy efficiency and respond to climate change and environmental protection”.
The Youth Unions of Central Enterprise Block cooperates with EVN’s Youth Union to organize the walk to respond to Earth Hour campaign 2019.
The program "Students’ companion with Earth Hour 2019" took place at the University of Natural Sciences, Hanoi National University, with the response of more than 1,000 young students
The Earth Hour campaign in Vietnam is an annual event directed by the Ministry of Industry and Trade. EVN has been the main sponsor of the Campaign for 11 consecutive years.
