During the meeting, Ms. Sarah Negro emphasized that sustainability and the use of renewable energy are key global commitments of H&M, with the Group aiming to achieve 100% renewable electricity by 2030 and move toward net-zero emissions by 2040. Vietnam is considered a crucial link in H&M’s global supply and production chain, with more than 100 local partners and plans to double production volume between 2024 and 2027. To realize its clean energy and emission reduction goals, H&M expressed a strong interest in pioneering the implementation of DPPA in Vietnam’s textile and garment sector.
EVN Vice President Nguyen Tai Anh provided an overview of the DPPA mechanism and Vietnam’s power system. He affirmed that EVN is ready to collaborate and support H&M in fulfilling its sustainable development commitments in Vietnam, ensuring alignment with the national legal framework and a balance of interests among stakeholders.
