Attending the workshop were Mr. Nguyen The Huu – Deputy Director General of the Electricity and Renewable Energy Authority under the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT); and Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan – President and CEO of EVN.

On the side of Hitachi Energy, the participants included Mr. N. Venu – President for South Asia; Mr. Gerhard Salge – Global Chief Technology Officer; along with technical experts and senior executives from the group.

The workshop marked a continuation of the cooperation between EVN and Hitachi Energy, contributing to strengthening technical exchange, knowledge sharing, and promoting international collaboration in the energy sector.

At the event, Hitachi Energy experts shared solutions and experience aimed at enhancing grid stability and flexibility, which align with Vietnam’s growing integration of renewable energy and efforts to modernize the power system. The discussions focused on long-distance power transmission solutions, technologies supporting voltage stability and grid responsiveness, and technical requirements for grid infrastructure in the development of offshore wind power.

According to Hitachi Energy, all presented solutions are drawn from global implementation experience and tailored to Vietnam’s conditions.

Mr. N. Venu – President of Hitachi South Asia – shares several strategic perspectives of Hitachi on grid development and energy transition.

In addition to technical presentations, the workshop featured a discussion session on the role of transmission infrastructure in the energy transition process. Experts exchanged insights on the need to develop a synchronized and flexible power grid to effectively integrate clean energy sources and support Vietnam’s Net Zero target by 2050.

In his opening remarks, EVN President and CEO Nguyen Anh Tuan emphasized that the workshop served as an important professional forum, enabling stakeholders to discuss emerging technology trends and clarify feasible directions for Vietnam’s power system. In the context of energy transition and digital transformation posing new challenges to the power sector, data, automation, and digital technologies are playing an increasingly vital role in enhancing system reliability and operational flexibility. The workshop provided a valuable platform for sharing practical solutions to accelerate the modernization and digitalization of Vietnam’s power system in the coming years.

On this occasion, EVN leadership also highly appreciated the long-standing partnership and cooperation with Hitachi Energy over the past 30 years.
