EVN leaders meet with Huawei's working delegation

On the morning of December 26, Mr. Vo Quang Lam, Vice President of Vietnam Electricity (EVN), hosted a meeting with Mr. Jason Wu, Head of the Digital Energy Business Unit for Indochina at Huawei, to explore potential collaboration in the application of advanced technologies within the renewable energy sector.

The Huawei delegation also included Mr. Berry Tang, Solutions Director, and Mr. Nguyễn Anh Vũ, Business Development Manager for the Vietnamese market.

Representatives from EVN’s specialized departments were also present at the meeting.

During the discussion, Mr. Jason Wu provided an overview of Huawei's operational and business activities. He elaborated on the company's vision to integrate electronic technologies (such as power electronics, thermal management systems, and lithium batteries) with digital innovations (including cloud computing, transmission technology, and artificial intelligence) to deliver greener and smarter energy solutions.

In his presentation, Mr. Wu highlighted Huawei's cutting-edge Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), which features grid-forming technology designed to enhance grid intelligence, stability, and efficiency in utilizing renewable energy resources. This solution has garnered significant interest from governments worldwide, particularly as renewable energy sources like wind and solar power are increasingly integrated into national grids. Huawei expressed its eagerness to collaborate with EVN to deploy digital technology applications, contributing to the sustainable development of Vietnam’s electricity sector.

Representing EVN, Mr. Vo Quang Lam welcomed Huawei's commitment to advancing electronic and digital technologies in Vietnam. He emphasized EVN's desire for Huawei to continue researching the demand and market potential for renewable energy in Vietnam and to propose credible and suitable cooperation opportunities that will strengthen bilateral relations.

Huawei is a multinational corporation with operations in over 170 countries and territories. As of October 2024, the company has supplied over 500 GW of inverters and 30 GWh of energy storage systems globally. Established in Vietnam in 1998, Huawei has become a leading provider of solar power equipment for local customers.
