EVN President and CEO Nguyen Anh Tuan meets with delegation from Ministry of Energy of Lithuania

On the afternoon of March 23 in Hanoi, EVN President and CEO Nguyen Anh Tuan received and held a working meeting with a delegation from the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Lithuania, led by Vice Minister Gabriel Gorbačevski.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged views on several topics related to liquefied natural gas (LNG) infrastructure, power transmission, and grid interconnection, as well as technological solutions supporting the modernization of power systems.

Representatives of the Lithuanian Ministry of Energy shared information about the country’s energy development strategy, highlighting the role of renewable energy, LNG infrastructure, and regional grid interconnection in the energy transition process.
In addition to introducing several technological solutions supporting power system modernization, the Lithuanian delegation also expressed its desire to strengthen information exchange, share experience, connect enterprises, and promote cooperation with EVN in relevant areas.

On EVN’s side, President and CEO Nguyen Anh Tuan shared updates on the development orientation of Vietnam’s power sector under the revised National Power Development Plan VIII. Under this plan, the national power system will continue to be expanded at a large scale to meet electricity demand for socio-economic development, while gradually realizing the goals of energy transition and carbon neutrality by 2050.
In this context, EVN faces significant requirements in developing power generation sources, transmission infrastructure, enhancing system operation capacity, and accelerating the application of science and technology and digital transformation. EVN’s leadership also noted that these are areas where the Group is particularly interested in strengthening cooperation with international partners.
Leaders of both sides agreed to maintain communication channels and explore appropriate cooperation frameworks in the coming period.
