EVNHCMC synchronously deploys power projects to develop rural infrastructure under the direction of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee and the People's Committee in the period of 2021-2025.

Ensuring Criterion No. 4 on rural electricity

In the period of 2021-2025, Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC) has been implementing many plans to invest in developing the power grid in accordance with the socio-economic development planning of rural communes and districts. This is one of the efforts to accompany the City in building new rural areas associated with urbanization in accordance with the policies of the City Party Committee and the People's Committee of the City.

Accordingly, in recent years, EVNHCMC has effectively maintained Criterion No. 4 in the National Criteria for New Rural Development, ensuring that 100% of rural households have access to electricity from the national grid. The power system in Ho Chi Minh City not only meets technical requirements but also ensures a safe and stable power supply, contributing to improving the quality of life for people and serving local economic development.

100% of households in 6/6 communes of Can Gio district have been supplied with power from the national grid.

The power infrastructure has been invested synchronously, and the beauty of the power grid in rural areas has also been constantly improved. The Corporation has actively arranged reasonable implementation costs, applied modern technology to operations, thereby improving the quality of power supply and customer service. Up to now, EVNHCMC has carried out major repairs to the power grid with a total cost of VND104 billion and invested VND304 billion in power grid construction in rural areas.

Meeting diverse urbanization needs

Identifying the role of “electricity one step ahead” in the development of socio-economic infrastructure, EVNHCMC has closely coordinated with the People's Committee of Can Gio district to review the current status of the electricity system in the whole district. As a result, 100% of households in 6/6 communes of the district have been supplied with power from the national grid, meeting the standards according to Criterion No. 4 on rural electricity according to Decision No. 4296/QD-UBND. This is a solid foundation for the locality to promote the development of agricultural production, eco-tourism, and the construction of coastal urban areas in the future.

Not only in Can Gio, but EVNHCMC is continuing to deploy synchronous investment in all 61 communes of the City. The goal by the end of 2025 is to maintain 100% of communes meeting Criterion No. 4 on electricity, contributing to the completion of advanced new rural criteria, towards model new rural areas.

In the context of Ho Chi Minh City promoting the development of new urban residential areas in the suburbs, EVNHCMC is constantly expanding and modernizing the power grid to serve diverse needs: from households, high-tech agricultural zones, to export processing zones, industrial zones. At the same time, the company focuses on the efficiency of operating the power grid in rural areas, minimizing power loss, and ensuring the safety of the power system in all conditions.

Along with investment and development activities, EVNHCMC has always paid attention to implementing social security programs, supporting disadvantaged students, donating energy-saving equipment to poor households, and renovating electricity for charity houses... These programs create a close connection between the electricity industry and the people, enhancing consensus in the process of infrastructure modernization.
