In line with the nationwide spirit of celebrating the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (EVNHCMC) has recently commenced construction of two power grid projects: installation of the second transformer (T2) at the Tan Phu Trung 110kV Substation and installation of the third transformer (T3) at the Cho Lon 110kV Substation, in accordance with the implementation plan registered with EVN.

The project involves the installation of a new 110kV - 63MVA transformer along with associated facilities, including an outdoor 110kV distribution yard, a 24kV medium-voltage bus, control and protection systems, SCADA, fire prevention and fighting systems, and modern monitoring equipment. This is the second phase of the 110kV substation project applying digital substation technology (Process Bus).
Scheduled for completion and energization in December 2025, the project will enhance power supply capacity for the Tan Phu Trung Industrial Park and the Northwest gateway area of Ho Chi Minh City. Notably, it will ensure a stable and safe electricity supply for the city’s Data Center located at the Tan Phu Trung Industrial Park. The total investment cost of the project exceeds VND 45 billion, financed by EVNHCMC.
As for the other project - the Cho Lon 110kV Substation, which was newly built and completed in 2024 using state-of-the-art equipment and technology to improve power supply stability and reliability for the city - EVNHCMC has now arranged the site to install the third transformer.
