EVN’s Vice President Ngo Son Hai works with Marubeni Corporation (Japan)

On March 18, in Hanoi, Vice President of Vietnam Electricity - Mr. Ngo Son Hai welcomed and worked with Mr. Seiji Kawamura - General Director of Asia-Pacific Energy and Power Division, Marubeni Corporation (Japan), and the working delegation.

At the meeting, Mr. Seiji Kawamura thanked the EVN leadership for their close cooperation in projects in Vietnam, especially the dispatching of the Nghi Son 2 Thermal Power Plant. He emphasized that Marubeni has constantly considered EVN an important partner and wishes to promote good cooperation in ongoing energy projects such as the O Mon II Thermal Power Plant and the Quang Ninh LNG project. Marubeni also expressed its desire to promote cooperation in energy conversion at coal-fired thermal power plants, towards sustainable development.
Vice President Ngo Son Hai highly appreciated the cooperation between the two parties, affirming that EVN will be ready to cooperate to ensure the operation of the power system efficiently and practically. The Vice President also informed about changes in the operation of the power system, the increasing penetration of renewable energy sources, as well as revisions in policies, mechanisms related to the electricity market, creating more favorable conditions for projects such as O Mon 2.
The two parties agreed to maintain regular exchanges, strengthen cooperation in the operation and development of power projects, and seek feasible solutions to support the energy transition process, contributing to ensuring energy security and sustainable development in Vietnam.
