Leaders of Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee work with EVN leaders on August 4, 2026
The power system in Gia Lai Province is currently serving more than 1 million customers. The power sales in the first six months of 2026 reached 2,525 million kWh, an increase of 10.72% compared with the same period in 2025. The peak capacity of the power system in Gia Lai in the first six months of 2026 reached 802.5MW. It is forecast that by 2030, the province’s peak load will reach approximately 1,173MW.
To meet development needs, EVNCPC is expected to invest approximately VND 5.755 trillion during the 2026–2030 period to construct and upgrade 110kV power grid facilities, enhance transmission capacity, and ensure a safe and continuous power supply.
Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee Pham Anh Tuan acknowledged and highly appreciated the contributions of EVN and its member units in recent years. The power sector has ensured a safe and stable power supply; invested in power grid development; improved the reliability of power supply; accelerated digital transformation; improved the quality of customer services; and, in particular, brought electricity to remote and isolated areas and ethnic minority areas, making an important contribution to promoting socio-economic development, ensuring national defense and security, and effectively implementing social welfare policies.
The provincial Chairman said that, following the merger, Gia Lai has a large development space with many advantages in processing industries, logistics, seaports, large-scale agriculture, and renewable energy. The province is determined to achieve the goal of double-digit economic growth in accordance with the Government’s direction, aiming to become a regional center for processing industries, logistics, and energy. In this orientation, electricity is identified as essential technical infrastructure, playing a decisive role in the locality’s competitiveness, investment attraction, and sustainable development.
Based on reports from EVN and the Department of Industry and Trade, the provincial Chairman emphasized the view that power generation development must be associated with the synchronous development of transmission and distribution infrastructure.

Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee Pham Anh Tuan speaks at meeting
The Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee proposed that EVN prioritize resources for investment in 500kV, 220kV and 110kV power grid projects under the Revised Power Development Plan VIII; accelerate the progress of increasing the capacity of substations and upgrading transmission lines at risk of overloading, particularly in the Krong Pa area and areas with a high concentration of renewable energy projects. At the same time, the power sector should continue to support investors in carrying out connection and acceptance procedures; study technical solutions to enhance the capacity to evacuate power and coordinate with local authorities to review and update the planning in line with the province’s development pace.
The Chairman of the Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee affirmed that the province will continue to accompany EVN, EVNNPT and EVNCPC in implementing power projects in the locality; direct departments, sectors and local authorities to promptly handle procedures under their authority, accelerate compensation and site clearance, conversion of land use purposes, identification of transmission corridors and related matters in order to facilitate the implementation of projects on schedule and ensure quality and investment efficiency. At the same time, the province will continue to improve the investment environment, strengthen dialogue with businesses, and promptly resolve difficulties and obstacles arising during the implementation of energy projects, with the goal of building Gia Lai into an energy center of the Central Highlands region and the country.

EVN Vice President Ngo Son Hai speaks at meeting
Acknowledging the opinions and recommendations of the Gia Lai Provincial People’s Committee, Mr. Ngo Son Hai, Vice President of EVN, said that in recent years, the Group has focused on implementing many key tasks to improve production and business efficiency, accelerate development investment, and ensure national energy security. In particular, investment in construction and development of the power transmission system has always received special attention from EVN.
EVN has been directing its units to accelerate the progress of power transmission grid projects to meet the requirements for evacuating power from power sources and ensuring a safe and stable power supply. For large-scale transmission projects, particularly transmission lines and substations connecting power plants to the national power system, the Group requires stronger investment management and strict control over project progress, quality and the efficiency of capital use.
In addition, EVN will continue to strengthen the safe operation and management of the power system, ensuring a safe and continuous power supply to serve socio-economic development and the people’s daily lives.
The working session reached agreement on a number of important orientations to strengthen coordination between Gia Lai Province and EVN in implementing the Revised Power Development Plan VIII. The two sides committed to further working together to remove bottlenecks in transmission infrastructure, accelerate investment in power generation and grid projects, and create a foundation for Gia Lai to effectively tap its renewable energy potential, attract investment, achieve the goal of double-digit growth, and develop rapidly, greenly and sustainably in the coming period.
