Over 1.5 million entries after 5 years
The contest, launched by the Department of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion (Ministry of Industry and Trade) on 16 June 2026, was held online on the website of the National Program on Energy Saving and Efficiency (VNEEP). The competition lasted 5 weeks, from June 16th to July 20th, 2026.
This is the 5th consecutive year the competition has been held within the framework of the National Program on Energy Saving and Efficiency 2019-2030 (VNEEP3), aiming to innovate communication methods and raise community awareness about the role of energy saving and efficiency in sustainable socio-economic development.
After 5 years of organization, the competition has attracted 1,040,525 participants with a total of 1,534,492 online responses. These figures demonstrate the growing reach of communication campaigns on energy saving and efficiency, while also affirming the effectiveness of digital platforms in raising public awareness.

Mr. Dang Hai Dung – Deputy Director of the Department of Innovation, Green Transformation and Industrial Promotion, said that in the trend of digital transformation, online platforms are becoming effective tools for connecting and transmitting information to the community. Organizing the competition in an online format not only enhances interaction but also facilitates the widespread sharing of knowledge, experience, and messages about energy saving and efficiency, contributing to the formation of a green lifestyle and spreading positive behaviors in society.
This year's competition aims to promote and raise community awareness in implementing Directive No. 09/CT-TTg dated 19 March 2026, on strengthening energy saving, promoting energy transition, and developing electric transport; and Directive No. 10/CT-TTg dated 30 March 2026, on strengthening electricity saving and developing rooftop solar power.
The results of each week's competition are publicly updated on the VNEEP Program's website, fanpage, and Zalo OA channel. Over 5 weeks of competition, the Organizing Committee awarded prizes to 25 outstanding individuals, including 5 first prizes, each worth VND 3 million, and 20 consolation prizes, each worth VND 1 million.
Positive participation from EVN units

Competition attractes many groups from different industries to participate
In particular, the competition received a positive response from EVN units in 34 provinces and cities. Many units proactively promoted and encouraged their staff, employees, and customers to participate, notably Dong Nai Hydropower Company, Vinh Long Power Company, Gia Lai Power Company, Quang Tri Power Company, and many local power units.
Mr. Pham Viet Thach – Deputy Head of the Environment and Sustainable Development Department, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) affirmed that the competition is a valuable platform for disseminating knowledge and a modern form of communication, contributing to spreading positive actions and encouraging people to change their energy usage habits towards saving, efficiency, and sustainability.
The positive response from EVN's staff and employees not only contributed to the success of the competition but also affirmed their pioneering role in participating in activities to promote and encourage the community to use electricity economically and efficiently. Through this, they contribute to building a culture of energy saving and efficiency and spreading a green lifestyle in society.
