Emulation for the electricity industry has never been just a slogan. That is the spirit of overcoming difficulties, creativity, and perseverance in each work, each power line, and each substation. From 2020 to 2025, the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union has initiated a series of movements with strong influence: from "Good workers - Creative workers" to "10,000 initiatives - Efforts to overcome difficulties, creativity, determination to defeat the Covid-19 pandemic", from "Ensuring safety, productivity, quality, and efficiency in production and labor" to "Innovation - Creativity - Efficiency in production and business".

Milestones of New Era’s Breakthroughs

Over the past five years, if there has been any movement that truly embodies the patriotic emulation spirit of the electricity industry, it is the emulation movement to construct the 500kV Circuit-3 Line — a project hailed as the miracle of the new era

519km long, passing through 9 provinces and cities from Quang Binh to Hung Yen (according to the old place name), with a total investment of nearly VND 22,800 billion, this is a national key project with strategic significance for national energy security.

Vice President of Vietnam Electricity Pham Hong Phuong shared at the inauguration ceremony: “The emulation movement on the 500kV circuit-3 work is a clear demonstration of the strength of solidarity, creativity, and will of workers in the electricity industry. The emulation movement in EVN stems from the close and synchronized coordination of the entire political system and mass organizations, with the Trade Union playing a particularly important role in bringing together cadres, union members, workers, civil servants, and laborers.

EVNHANOI pioneering team - capital's electricians - is working together to transport equipment in rainy weather, striving to complete 500kV Circuit-3 transmission line.

These seemingly dry numbers - 519km of line, 1,177 steel poles, and nearly 14,000 km of conductors - have come to symbolize Vietnamese ingenuity and aspiration.

Competition from construction sites to life

The spirit of competition is visible not only in major projects but also permeates every unit, workshop, and electrical team. Vietnam Electricity Trade Union, in coordination with the profession, implements many practical care programs: "Union Shelter", "Tet Sum Vay", "Union Meal", "Worker Month", "Month of Action on Occupational Safety and Health" ...

Vietnam Electricity Trade Union (EVN), in collaboration with the Trade Union of Power Generation Corporation 2 and An Khe – Ka Nak Hydropower Company (AKKN), holds ceremony to affix name board to "Union Shelter" for family of Mr. Dang Van Hoan, member of Repair Workshop of AKKN.

Besides, occupational safety and hygiene are always top priority. Periodic training courses and the "3 no's" program: No accidents, No incidents, No subjectivity are widely deployed. Everywhere, from the control room to the remote substation, electricians are imbued with the slogan "Safe to go home".

The new era calls for trade unions to modernize to support and accompany businesses. The Vietnam Electricity Trade Union has pioneered the digital transformation of its activities, managing union members with electronic records, communicating via social networks, organizing online innovation competitions, and creating new spaces for members to participate, share, and connect.

Lighting up green future of competition

Entering a new phase, as the country undergoes the green energy revolution and digital transformation, the Vietnam Electricity Trade Union continues to affirm its pioneering role with the motto: "Innovation – Creativity – Efficiency – For Workers and Sustainable Development."
