In response to developments during the 2026 hot season, EVN has required Power Corporations to implement a range of synchronized measures to ensure a safe and stable electricity supply, while also strengthening customer care, communication, and guidance on economical and efficient electricity use.

During the hot months of 2026, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) issued a directive to Power Corporations on implementing measures to ensure electricity supply, enhance customer care, and communicate guidance on electricity saving.

Regarding the safe and stable electricity supply and grid operation, EVN requires regular inspection and maintenance of power grid systems to ensure a safe and efficient electricity supply, minimize local overloads, and reduce grid incidents that could lead to power interruptions. Limit the scheduling of construction investment projects, major repairs, routine repairs, and periodic meter replacement during the dry and hot season; strictly follow the announced schedules for power interruption, reduction, and restoration. In particular, power supply must not be interrupted or reduced for repair or upgrade work on days when temperatures exceed 35°C, except in force majeure cases.

Regarding customer care and communication on electricity saving, EVN has required units to proactively strengthen the dissemination of guidance for customers on economical and efficient electricity use through mass media channels. Communication activities should include recommendations for customers on using high-consumption electrical appliances during hot weather. In addition, EVN has required power units to guide and encourage customers to use customer service apps/websites to monitor their daily electricity consumption. If any abnormal increase in electricity consumption is detected, customers should proactively notify their local power unit.
