500 kV My Tho Substation Energized

The Southern Power Project Management Board (SPMB) has recently collaborated with related units to accept and energize the 500 kV My Tho substation and connection lines.

500 kV-900 MVA transformer at 500 kV My Tho substation 

The project was constructed at Diem Hy commune, Chau Thanh district, Tien Giang province with the construction scope of 500/220 kV transformer with capacity of 2x900 MVA (one transformer will be installed in this stage); new construction of 1,552 m of  500 kV connection line and 2,540 m of 220 kV connection line.

The total investment of the project was more than VND 1,400 billion, owned by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), managed by SPMB as representative of EVNNPT, designed by Power Engineering Consulting Joint Stock Company No. 2, constructed by Power Construction Company No. 2, taken over and operated by the Power Transmission Company No. 4 upon completion.  

The 500 kV My Tho substation and the connection lines will receive and transmit most of power from the Duyen Hai Thermal Power Plant Complex to the national power system via the 500 kV power line of Duyen Hai – My Tho Thermal Power Plants synchronized with the project, supplying power for Tien Giang province and neighbouring areas and enhancing the stability and reliability of the power system in the South of Vietnam.
