Under this project, a double-circuit 500kV line connecting Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant to Vinh Tan 4 500 kV Substation has been newly constructed and the 500 kV bay at Vinh Tan 500 kV substation has been expanded. The construction of connecting line was conducted in Vinh Tan Power Centre; the expansion of 500 kV bay was done inside the existing Vinh Tan 500 kV substation.
The project with total investment of VND 100 billion was owned by National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT), managed by SPMB, designed by Power Construction Consulting Joint stock company No.2 and constructed by Song Da 11 Thang Long Company Ltd. The project upon completion would be handed over to Power Transmission Company No.3 for management and operation.
The project is aimed at transmitting the power generated by Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant and the expanded Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant into the national power system; along with other 500 kV lines in the area (Vinh Tan - Song May, Vinh Tan - Song May branch - Tan Uyen, etc.) and supplying power from regional power plants to Ho Chi Minh City and Southern East provinces; at the same time, creating 500 kV link among the areas in the region, ensuring safe and stable operation, improving the power supply reliability and reducing power loss of the overall system.
