The generating units that were put into operation in the first six months of 2017 included 4 units of the Trung Son Hydropower Plant, (65 MW/unit) and the generating unit No. 1 of the Thai Binh 1 Thermal Power Plant (300 MW).
At the same time, EVN and its members closely followed the progress of the other key power projects such as Vinh Tan Power Center (Binh Thuan province), GENCO 3 and the contractors has conducted the first coal firing of the unit No. 2 (Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant) and expected to synchronize with the national grid in July 2017. For the power projects at the Quang Trach Power Center (Quang Binh province), EVN submitted to the Ministry of Industry and Trade the revised feasibility study of the Quang Trach 1 Thermal Power and the revised basic design and adjust the design basis and the total cost estimates of the infrastructure project.
Other hydropower projects such as Thac Mo Hydropower Expansion Project, Da Nhim Hydropower Expansion Project were in good progress, of which Thac Mo Hydropower Expansion Project was supplied with water in the tunnel to generate power in July 2017,
With the solar power projects additionally included in the Revised Master Plan VII, EVN is deploying the investment preparation for two solar power projects Phuoc Thai (200 MW) and the Song Binh (200 MW). EVN also submitted the Ministry of Industry and Trade to consider and include 2 other solar power projects: Tri An Hydropower (126 MW) and Se San 4 Hydropower (49 MW) in the revised Master Plan VII.
