Boosting cooperation in power transmission between Vietnam and Rumania

In response to the invitation of Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Dacian Ciolos - Romanian Prime Minister paid an official visit to Vietnam from 11-14 July, 2016.

The two Prime Ministers agreed to continue to expand and diversify the economic cooperation. In the working program, the two Prime Ministers witnessed the signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding for Cooperation between the Vietnam National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) and Romania Power Transmission Corporation (TEL) for the period 2016 -2019. Under the MOU, the program will enhance mutual understanding; strengthen relationship between EVNNPT and TEL through the cooperation activities of mutual interest and for the mutual benefit of both parties.

Vietnam and Romania to strengthen cooperation in the power transmission in the near future.

Taking responsibility for investment, operation and maintenance of transmission systems of Vietnam and Romania as well as with the goal of becoming one of the leading transmission units of Asia and Southeast Europe, EVNNPT and TEL will exchange experiences, provide training support, performing cooperation in researching technical factors relating to the safe and efficient operation of the transmission systems of the two parties in order to find solutions for improvement of the reliability and efficiency of power transmission systems of the two countries.

In addition, EVNNPT will also support TEL in learning about Vietnam power market, opportunities for cooperation in a few projects in Vietnam, including projects on providing consulting services as well as construction of power lines and substations, etc.

EVNNPT Chairman Dang Phan Tuong affirmed that EVNNPT is willing to cooperate with TEL in all fields and looking forward to a growing relationship and fruitful cooperation between the two parties.
