By 2025, the electricity access index is targeted to be on par with ASEAN 3 countries

That is one of the contents of the Digital Transformation Plan in the Energy Sector until 2025, with a vision to 2030, recently issued by the Minister of Industry and Trade in Decision No. 804/QD-BCT on April 8, 2024.

The plan sets goals to ensure the rate of administrative procedures related to the energy sector (electricity, oil and gas, petroleum, and coal) being processed via the MOIT's Public Service Portal at 90%; the rate of digitizing administrative procedure implementation records and digitizing valid administrative procedure handling results related to the energy sector reaching 100%.

It is targeted that at least 90% of people and businesses will be satisfied with the handling of administrative procedures related to the energy sector by the Ministry of Industry and Trade; 100% of records of cadres, civil servants, and public employees of units decentralized to manage the energy sector under the Ministry of Industry and Trade will be stored and managed in the form of electronic records. Enterprises, cooperatives, and business households in the energy sector managed by the Industry and Trade sector shall improve their awareness of digital transformation.

At the same time, a specialized energy information system will be built, covering all energy sub-sectors including oil and gas, petroleum, coal, electricity, renewable energy, and new energy; The smart grid project in Vietnam will be implemented according to the roadmap approved by competent authorities.

It is striving to have the electricity access index on par with ASEAN 3 countries by 2025. Vietnam Electricity will modernize metering work, to reach 95% by 2025 and 100% by 2030 of electronic meters at all power corporations, providing customers with measurement data through applications on mobile devices in a comprehensive online manner.
