Attending the workshop were Mr. Nguyen Tai Anh – Vice President of EVN, leaders of power project management boards, power engineering consulting companies in EVN and EVN’s departments.
The workshop aims to share CIP's experience in developing, constructing and operating offshore wind power projects in the world. EVN is expected to share about the development and implementation of power generation and transmission projects in Vietnam.
Vietnam Electricity and Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (Denmark) jointly hold a workshop on offshore wind power
CIP is a Denmark-based, world-class fund manager, specializing in the investment and development of renewable energy projects, especially offshore wind power. Currently, CIP is developing the 3.5GW La Gan offshore wind power project in Binh Thuan province. CIP has been also developing many offshore wind power projects in the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Australia, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan.
As a pioneer investor in many emerging offshore wind power markets, CIP has had a strong track record of successful development, financial delivery and operation of wind power projects, most notably the Changfang Xidao 600MW Project in Taiwan – with USD 3 billion being raised, holding the record of largest size debt financing in offshore wind power projects in the Asia-Pacific region (February 2020) and Vineyard 800MW Project in the United States – the first large-scale offshore wind power project in the history of the country that successfully achieved financial close of more than USD 2.3 billion (September 2021).
In addition, CIP is also involved in the research and development of new renewable energy technologies namely Power-to-X including green hydrogen and green ammonia, energy storage, energy islands and power transmission. Some notable Power-to-X projects include the 5GW hydrogen Murchison project in Australia, the 1GW Hoest project in Denmark, and the 1.7GW green hydrogen HNH project in Chile. Recently, CIP has announced a plan to develop 4GW of battery energy storage in the UK. CIP Group is also leading the development of Vindø, the world's first energy island off the coast of Denmark.
