EVN’s Chairman of the Board of Directors Dang Hoang An receiving and working with the delegation of EDF
At the meeting, Mr. Thomas Bueno emphasized that EVN is one of EDF's important partners, and highly appreciates the good cooperative relationship with EVN over the past many years. EDF leaders expressed trust and expectation that the two sides will continue to support and promote long-term cooperation.
In Vietnam, EDF built Phu My 2.2 Thermal Power Plant (715MW) - one of the first BOT power projects in Vietnam. Currently, EDF is implementing the BOT project of Son My 1 LNG Gas Power Plant (Binh Thuan province). Mr. Thomas Bueno wishes to receive support and assistance from EVN during the project implementation process, as well as during the future commercial operation of the plant.
EVN’s Chairman of the Board of Directors Dang Hoang An affirmed that EVN strongly supports the development of power projects in Vietnam. Mr. Dang Hoang An also noted the bright spots in the cooperation between the two corporations, especially in the fields of human resource development, creative innovation, and technical cooperation activities of EDF contributing to the process of energy transition.
It is known that the Son My 1 Gas Power Plant project consists of 3 units with 2,000 MW, expected to come into operation in 2027. The project is part of the Son My Thermal Power Project Complex including Son My 1, 2, and 3 thermal power plants (Son My commune, Ham Tan district, Binh Thuan province, in the Son My Petroleum - Service Industry Complex).
