Continue to promote cooperation between EVN and WB

On August 16, in Hanoi, Vice President of Vietnam Electricity (EVN) Nguyen Xuan Nam welcomed and worked with representatives of the World Bank (WB) on cooperation content in the coming time.

At the meeting, Ms. Zayra Romo - Senior Energy Specialist, WB Vietnam Infrastructure Program Coordinator said that  WB wished to support the Government of Vietnam in achieving COP26 commitments through research and analysis to develop a roadmap for implementing the clean energy transition. The assessments will provide useful information to help EVN develop a climate action plan in the coming time.

Currently, the World Bank's resources will be able to support EVN in technical assistance cooperation, energy transition roadmap, and capital mobilization for renewable energy projects.

For EVN, Vice President Nguyen Xuan Nam would like to thank the World Bank for supporting and cooperating with EVN in the past years. Before the WB's cooperation proposals, EVN leaders affirmed that EVN is always ready to promote cooperation opportunities with the WB in the field of energy.

At the meeting, the two sides also spent time discussing and exchanging the potentials in mutual cooperation and agreed to continue discussing and detailing the contents so that they can proceed to specific and effective projects in the coming time.

Regarding the wide communication contents related to EVN's activities as well as the cooperation between the two sides, Ms. Zayra Romo said, WB will urgently review specific issues, and the inaccurate posted content will be publicly corrected by WB.

WB also committed that, in the coming time, the communication contents related to the two sides will be properly discussed and agreed upon before being posted.
