The project has a total investment cost of around VND 1,952 billion, funded by an ODA loan from the Government of Japan (for 85% of the total investment cost of the project) and the counterpart fund of the project owner (for the remaining 15%). The scale of the project is to install a new 80 MW power unit, and thereby will increase the total capacity of Da Nhim Hydropower Plant from 160 MW to 240 MW (the existing plant was built from 1960 with 4 x 40 MW power units). The total annual output of the plant will increase around 99 million kWh. The project does not require relocation and resettlement.
