According to the agreement, Maritime Bank and ECPay will implement electricity bill payment via QR code, integrating QR code payment on eDong e-wallet and ECPay system. Thus, in addition to the two currently conventional payment channels which are cash payment and bank cards, customers of ECPay will have a new electricity bill payment channel.
This payment channel enables payments for electricity bills to be done in a very quick and simple manner. Upon arrival at ECPay collection points, customers only need to open the Mobile Banking application, turn on QR code scanning, enter the payment amount to complete the transaction.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Mr. Huynh Buu Quang - General Director of Maritime Bank said: QR Code is not only a new form of payment but also a way to help customers in general and companies in particular to expand and save costs in their businesses.
"I am confident that Maritime Bank and ECPay will create many favorable business opportunities by capturing strengths and professional capabilities of each side. More importantly, Maritime Bank hopes that the cooperation can bring about financial solutions and more convenient experiences for customers, contributing to the development of non-cash payment system in Vietnam", said Mr. Quang.
