EVN Vice President Vo Quang Lam chairing conference
According to EVN Vice President Vo Quang Lam, in the current context, if innovation is not fast and effective enough, it is impossible to keep up with Industry 4.0, successfully implement digital transformation and energy transition, as well as achieve the Net-Zero goal.
In recent years, Vietnam Electricity achieved many innovations in almost all aspects of its activities, making great strides in business and customer service, technical management, and internal governance. However, it’s time for EVN to have a stronger tool to promote innovation activities so that innovation can take place faster and more effectively. Specifically, there is a need for a more organized and methodical innovation management system, equipped with better knowledge and operating tools.
Currently, EVN is also developing and completing the Project of Improving Innovation Capacity as a basis for implementing innovation activities throughout the Group to bring practical efficiency to the governance and operation of the corporation in the coming time.
This training program is useful for staff at both leaders and executives of EVN, because, unlike other academic training programs, this program is expected to focus on the reality of what innovation management has been, is, and will be implemented at EDF.
According to Mr. Hervé Conan, Director of AFD in Vietnam, AFD also recognizes that the innovation-promoting process in the energy sector is necessary to reduce carbon emissions and improve the technical and operational efficiency of power companies. This is very important in the energy transition.
Innovation can also support an equitable energy transition by developing energy-saving solutions, energy efficiency-use measures, and helping reduce electricity bills for households and businesses, making the transition to a low-carbon economy more favorable, etc.
EDF is one of the most advanced power companies in the world, with extensive experience in developing innovative solutions to support an equitable energy transition. Working with EDF, EVN can leverage its expertise to accelerate the transition to a more sustainable energy structure.
