Speaking at the seminar, Mr. Duong Quang Thanh - Chairman of EVN's Member Board said that EVN is a state-owned enterprise responsible for managing Vietnam's power system – the second-largest-scale power management system in Southeast Asia (behind Indonesia) and 23rd in the world. Vietnam's power grid infrastructure currently ranks first among ASEAN countries.
In order to perform its tasks well in the coming period, EVN has been focusing on three important fields: Improving management capacity, applying science and technology and improving the quality of human resources.
In particular, in order to improve governance capacity, EVN offers three main objectives: perfecting institutions and a synchronous legal basis to effectively manage and govern throughout the Group; Strongly applying IT as a management tool; Improving governance capacity from leaders to employees throughout the Group.
The EVN's Chairman of Member Board affirmed that over the past years, EVN and GE have cooperated effectively in many fields. EVN hoped to continue to receive support and coordination from GE to research and develop a Project to improve corporate governance capacity of the Group. Today's conference is the first step of exchanging and learning from GE's experience in corporate governance.
