The meeting was also attended by the leader of the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA), representatives of the U.S Embassy in Vietnam and representatives of U.S enterprises in the energy field.
At the meeting, Mr. Duong Quang Thanh and Mr. Ian Steff appreciated the achievements of the co-operation between EVN, and US organizations and enterprises.

Specifically, in the past time, USTDA sponsored for such energy projects in Vietnam as the project of supporting the technology for researching and developing the energy storage system in Vietnam, researching and developing the gas-power project in Southern Vietnam.
EVN and USTDA have scheduled to implement the technology support on AI application (Artificial Intelligent) in the energy field.
Many U.S ministries, departments, and organizations such as Office of Technical Assistance (OTA), Bureau of Energy Resources (ENR), and U.S Embassy in Vietnam also implemented the co-operations with EVN, thereby supporting in improving the quality of the human resources and pushing the industrial technology application in the production and business activities.
For the U.S enterprises, EVN set the long-lasting and effective co-operation with GE, AES, etc.

Chairman of EVN’s Member Board Mr. Duong Quang Thanh also said that EVN has welcomed the U.S enterprises to co-operate with EVN and other units under EVN in order to research and develop the power projects in Vietnam, especially projects of renewable energy, LNG, etc.
EVN requested Exxon Mobil company to ensure the exploiting progress of Blue Whale gas source to assure the gas supply for power plant projects of EVN in the forthcoming time and proposed AES to ensure the progress of Son Mi 2 BOT power project, which was registered with the Government of Vietnam, in order to contribute to supplying power as planned.
According to Mr. Ian Steff, the achievements of the co-operation between EVN and the U.S organizations and enterprises acts as a strong foundation for the parties to further foster the other co-operation opportunities in the time to come.
Especially, presently, the U.S Government is showing its interest in the development of renewable energy in Vietnam. Many US enterprises wish to co-operate with EVN to exploit the potentials of solar and wind power. At the same time, they also wish to transfer the modern technology, develop the smart power grid and supply the fuels for power generation such as coal, LNG gas for EVN’s power plants, etc.
