EVN and JEPIC (Japan) exchanged experiences on optimizing hydropower plants

On 7 October 2019, in Hanoi, Vietnam Electricity (EVN) and the Japan Electric Power Information Center (JEPIC) organized a Workshop on "Optimizing hydropower plants".

Mr. Ngo Son Hai – Vice President of EVN opened the Workshop

Mr. Ngo Son Hai – Vice President of EVN said: "Although hydropower potential in Vietnam has basically been fully exploited, hydropower plants currently accounts for 40% (approximately 20,000MW) of the total installed capacity. Therefore, the management of operation and maintenance of the existing hydropower plants is a very important task for EVN."

At this Workshop, EVN would like to exchange information with, learn experiences and knowledge from Japanese experts on the main subjects such as: maintenance of equipment in hydropower plants, management of hydropower plant assets, optimizing the operation of cascade hydropower plants, maintenance of plants and construction structures of plants, etc.

Mr. Ken Goto – Managing Director of JEPIC spoke at the Workshop

Speaking at the Workshop, Mr. Ken Goto - the Managing Director of JEPIC shared that with practical contents which can meet the expectations of EVN, JEPIC hopes that the Workshop will provide useful information to the hydropower sector, as well as contribute to the Group's overall development.

The Workshop took place in 3 days, from 7 - 9 October 2019.
