As reported by Thai Nguyen Power Company, in recent times, the power sector has basically ensured electricity supply to serve the province's socio-economic development and people's daily needs. Currently, the power grid in Thai Nguyen province meets the province's electricity consumption needs, with the peak load capacity reaching nearly 1,000MW, coming from industrial parks such as Song Cong 1, Song Cong 2, Yen Binh, Dien Thuy - APEC, Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel, Da Phuc Port Industrial Complex, Thai Nguyen and La Hien cement plants.
In recent years, to meet the electricity requirements for the socio-economic development of Thai Nguyen province and surrounding areas, EVNNPT has energized several 220kV power grid projects such as: renovating Thai Nguyen – Bac Giang 220kV transmission line; installing the second transformer in Luu Xa 220kV substation, etc. Currently, EVNNPT has been constructing power transmission grid projects in the province such as Thai Nguyen 500kV substation; Hiep Hoa - Thai Nguyen 500kV transmission line; Phu Binh 2 220kV substation, and 220kV transmission line connected to Thai Nguyen - Bac Giang 220kV transmission line; the 220kV transmission line from Phu Binh 2 to Thai Nguyen 500kV substation, etc.
EVNNPC has also been performing 110kV power grid investment projects in accordance with the master plans to supply electricity as well as improve capacity and create 110kV power grid loops to serve connecting hydropower plants in the province. In the period 2021 - 2025 alone, EVNNPC has been and will be constructing 12 110kV power grid projects with a total investment cost of VND 971.5 billion.

In recent times, EVN has paid great attention to investing in and constructing power grid projects to serve the development of the province, especially supplying electricity to industrial parks and industrial clusters. Thai Nguyen province is a rapidly developing industrial province with great demand for electricity, therefore the EVN leader requested EVN’s member units such as EVNNPT and EVNNPC to immediately implement projects which are approved in the 8th Master Plan to meet the rapid development of the province in the coming time.
