The to-be-completed project meets the power supply needs of more than 10,000 households living on Tan Loc islet because the project when put into operation will overcome the situation of overload and power outages due to the existing power grid which was built in 1990 has deteriorated.
Construction of 22kV underground cable line across river to supply power to Tan Loc islet was commenced in September 2023.
The project was commenced in September 2023, with a line length of 401m, underground drilled across the river using Robot technology. The project is part of the installation package "Renovating, upgrading and developing medium and low voltage power grids in the central area of the township and Can Tho city", belonging to the project of effective power grids in small and medium cities, with a total investment of nearly VND 124 billion.
This is a very important project because once put into operation, it will ensure a reliable, safe, and continuous power supply for people and businesses, as well as attract investment from businesses to operate production and business activities on Tan Loc islet, meeting the socio-economic development needs of Thot Not district, Can Tho city.
