Regarding the power supply situation, in the period 2016 - 2020, commercial power in Thai Nguyen province will increase by an average of 8.8% per year. The Power sector has basically ensured the power supply to serve the socio-economic development of the province and the people's daily needs.
Up to now, in the province, 126/126 communes, wards, townships, and 1,659/1,659 villages have been assessed to the national grid (100%). The total number of rural households having access to the national grid in the province reached 99.99%.
Regarding the investment situation of power grid projects, from 2016 up to now, four 220kV grid projects have been energized (deployed by EVNNPT). Currently, EVNNPT is also implementing transmission grid projects in compliance with the adjusted Power Plan VII; 500kV Thai Nguyen substation and Hiep Hoa - Thai Nguyen 500kV power line (expected to be completed in 2027) in compliance with Power Plan VIII.

In the coming time, based on the plan to develop the power supply network in the Thai Nguyen Provincial Planning, EVN will direct the units to implement the works to meet the demand for load development in the province.
