The scale of Vietnam power system currently ranks 2nd in the South East Asia region and 30th in the world, with a diversity of generation sources including hydropower, coal fired, FO oil fired, combined cycle gas turbine, DO oil fired and diesel single cycle gas turbine.
At the video conference between EVN and EVN’s generators on generation technical management on April 21st, 2017, Mr. Nguyen Hai Ha, Director of Technical and Operational Department of EVN said that: In 2016, EVN’s power plants satisfactorily met technical management norms that have been assigned. All of the operation personnel have been well trained to adequately satisfy professional requirements for each job position; always comply with processes, procedures, regulations on operation; respect orders of higher level dispatchers; strictly follow operation note, working note, working order schemes as per regulations.

In 2017 and the subsequent years, EVN’s objectives are to ensure electricity generation with the highest safety level for personnel and equipment, to gain high generation output, to respond to dispatching modes and realize competition in power generation; power units are operated so as to maintain initially designed specifications on capacity, generation output; environmental parameters satisfy or even are performed better than regulations of the state management bodies. At the same time, repair and maintenance works will be improved, condition based maintenance will be applied to optimize investment efficiency and enhance the reliability of power plants.
