The meeting between Vietnam Electricity and the delegation of People's Committee of Binh Phuoc province took place on March 13, 2018 in Hanoi.
As of the end of 2017, 111 out of 111 communes, wards and townships in Binh Phuoc province have access to electricity via connection to the national power grid, the percentage of households having electricity is 98.62%.
According to the Solar Power Development Master Plan of Binh Phuoc province, the total capacity of solar power stations in the province by 2020 and 2030 will be about 3,500 MW and over 5,000 MW respectively. Of which, Vietnam Electricity will take charge of investment in Loc Ninh 1 solar power project with the capacity of 220 MWp.
Responding to the province’s proposal for investment in transmission lines, EVN’s Chairman Duong Quang Thanh said that: according to the current regulations, investors of solar power projects are responsible for investing in grid connection projects. Therefore, in the case that solar power projects are connected to the power grid through Loc Tan 220 kV substation and Loc Tan - Binh Long 220 kV transmission line, EVN agrees upon the investment cost sharing scheme proposed by the province.
EVN’s relevant member organizations will coordinate with the Department of Industry and Trade of Binh Phuoc province and solar power investors to develop mechanisms to report to the Ministry of Industry and Trade for consideration and decision.
At the meeting, EVN’s Chairman Duong Quang Thanh expressed his expectation that the People's Committee of Binh Phuoc province would put forward recommendation to the Ministry of Industry and Trade on approving the Solar Power Development Master Plan, which identifies and assesses the development potential, feasibility and the phasing of projects; power grid development trend in the region and the need to be incorporated in the revised 7th Master Plan in order to meet connection requirements and evacuate capacity of solar power projects.
The EVN leader wishes that the local authorities would create the most favorable conditions for EVN and its subsidiaries in compensation, land acquisition and site clearance for key power projects in the province, especially Chon Thanh 500 kV substation, Duc Hoa - Chon Thanh 500 kV transmission line, Binh Long - Tay Ninh 220 kV transmission line, etc.; keep on providing support in communication, monitoring and inspection of the electricity saving status in the province as well as intensively and extensively enhancing communication activities for the people on their responsibilities for power grid project safety protection, strictly punishing violation behaviors in the use of electricity and grid protection corridors.
