Reporter: Could you please tell us more about the reason why the Group decided to continue to be the co-sponsor of the Earth Hour in Vietnam for 10 consecutive years?
Mr. Ngo Son Hai: Along with ensuring power supply for the socio-economic development of the country and people's life, EVN is fully aware of our responsibilities to society and community in saving energy, protecting the environment.
Therefore, EVN continues to be the co-sponsor of the Earth Hour 2018 Campaign with the expectation of promoting, spreading the message "Go more Green" to the community across the country, contributing to using power economically, effectively, protecting the environment, dealing with the climate change.
Reporter: Taking this position, how EVN will show its pioneering role, Sir?
Mr. Ngo Son Hai: EVN prepares many programs, activities throughout March 2018 to respond to and promote the Campaign.
The Group directed its power units nationwide to coordinate with localities to implement propaganda and promotion activities for the Campaign.
Particularly, Hanoi Power Corporation is also assigned the task of supporting and coordinating to properly implement the preparation of the main event – the turning-off-lights ceremony of the Earth Hour 2018 – is going to take place on the evening of 24 March 2018 in Hanoi.
The National Load Dispatch Center monitors, updates and reports the results of consumption power output of the entire country to EVN after the main event is finished.
EVN also calls on, encourages all the Group’s officials and employees to voluntarily turn off unnecessary lights and electrical equipment at their headquarters and homes during the main event of the Earth Hour 2018.
Especially, young forces from EVN’s Youth Union and affiliated units will join together with young forces from all over the country to propaganda and protect the "common roof" for a beautiful world for us and future generations.
Reporter: Through 1 hour turning off lights of the Earth Hour, what efficiency will EVN expect to achieve?
Mr. Ngo Son Hai: power output saved in 1 hour turning off lights in the Earth Hour Campaign is not much, but it makes great significance in raising awareness among the community of using power economically, efficiently, together protecting the environment for a greener, cleaner and more beautiful life.
With promotions, propaganda programs spreading throughout March 2018, I do hope that the Campaign will achieve better results than the past years. Especially, the efficiency gained from the response to the Earth Hour, saving of energy is not only at 1 hour, a day but throughout 365 days/year.
Reporter: Thank you very much, Sir!
