At the meeting, the two sides discussed the progress of the Nam Sum 3 Hydropower Plant Project and the progress of implementing the Nam Sum - Nong Cong 220kV transmission line project in Laos (invested by PSG) and the part in Vietnam's territory invested by the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT).

According to PSG's report, currently, the implementation progress of Nam Sum 3 line - Nam Sum Switching Substation 220kV and Nam Sum Switching Substation - Borderline, Nam Sum Switching Substation have been completed; The generating units of Nam Sum 3 Hydropower Plant are expected to energize in July 2024.
Regarding the investment and construction progress of Nam Sum - Nong Cong 220kV line (section on Vietnamese territory), the Management Board of Northern Power Projects (EVNNPT) said that foundation casting for 281/299 locations has now been completed, 6 positions under construction; 258/299 columns completed, 4 columns under construction; 44/99 anchorages completed, 5/99 anchorages under construction.
At the meeting, EVN and PSG also discussed procedures related to electricity trading. Accordingly, recently, the two sides have coordinated closely and effectively, in properly implementing procedures related to electricity trading.
The two sides also agreed to propose solutions to speed up the construction progress of projects, especially the power line project in the territory of Vietnam, in order to soon put the project into operation, serving the import of electricity from Laos to Vietnam, implementing the policy of energy cooperation between the two countries.
