EVNGENCO 2 donates 105 units of blood to save lives during the COVID-19 pandemic

On 3 August 2021, the Youth Union of Power Generation Corporation 2 (EVNGENCO 2) in coordination with the Hospital of Hematology-Blood Transfusion and the Can Tho Red Cross organized a voluntary blood donation activity by youth union members and staff and employees at the headquarters of Power Generation Corporation 2 and O Mon 1 Thermal Power Plant (in Can Tho City).

Due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, hospitals in Can Tho city are currently in a state of shortage of blood reserve. After two days of launching, more than 80 individuals from the EVNGENCO 2 Youth Union had volunteered to register blood donation, including operators at O Mon 1 Thermal Power Plant and Can Tho Thermal Power Plant performing “3 on-site” mode. As a result, 105 units of blood were obtained.

The blood donation session was held in parallel at two locations, at O Mon 1Thermal Power Plant for operators performing “3 on-site” mode and at the headquarters of Power Generation Corporation 2 for remaining volunteers.

Voluntary blood donation is a noble gesture of EVNGENCO 2 staff and employees and youth union members during the complicated development of the COVID-19 epidemic.
