EVNHCMC applies advanced repair and maintenance methods of RCM

Recently, Ho Chi Minh City Power  Corporation (EVNHCMC) and UNITEN R&D Institute (Malaysia) signed a cooperation contract to build "Instructions on repair and maintenance of materials and equipment from 110kV and below by the method of RCM (Reliability-Centered Maintenance)".

According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nha - Deputy General Director of EVNHCMC, the Unit always focuses on improving the reliability of power supply, improving the quality of power supplied to customers, and meeting the development needs of the City. The signing between EVNHCMC and UNITEN R&D Institute not only marks the close cooperation between the two sides but also an important turning point in applying advanced repair and maintenance methods on the Ho Chi Minh City power grid. This is a new step in the management and operation of the power system and supply, contributing to continuously improving the level of modernization of the City's power grid.

Signing ceremony of cooperation in construction "Guidelines for repair and maintenance of materials and equipment from 110kV and below by the method of RCM" between EVNHCMC and UNITEN R&D Institute

Mr. Muhamad bin Mansor - Executive Director of UNITEN R&D Institute committed to always being ready to cooperate with Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation to solve the remaining challenges, thereby improving the efficiency of grid operation and maintenance based on technology 4.0 and digital transformation. At the same time, knowledge about advanced technology solutions to modernize the power grid and improve the quality and reliability of the power grid in Ho Chi Minh City is also shared.

The RCM repair and maintenance method will solve one of the main challenges when applying the CBM method, which is the large amount of equipment that needs to be inspected or maintained at the same time, limited resources such as budget, human resources as well as power supply interruptions. Therefore, applying the RCM method will help to achieve the best performance at the lowest cost, prolong the life of the equipment, and reduce the downtime to a minimum.

The application of the method is an important step in the digital transformation process of EVNHCMC in the management and operation of the power system, contributing to improving reliability, and ensuring a stable, continuous, and safe power supply for Ho Chi Minh City.

Previously, EVNHCMC and UNITEN R&D Institute have also cooperated to develop a manual for repair and maintenance by the method of CBM  (Condition-Based Maintenance).
