For many years, Ho Chi Minh City is the region with the leading energy consumption in the whole country. Impacted by intense hot weather from the beginning of May, power consumption in the area also continued to increase.
Mr. Bui Trung Kien - Deputy General Director of EVNHCMC said that with the aim to ensure safety and avoid overload, EVNHCMC has carried out maintenance and repair of electrical equipment. Up to now, the fixing of defects on the power grid has been basically completed, ensuring power supply for the coming days. However, there are still some small points that need to be repaired, EVNHCMC will continue to repair and use generators to minimize the disconnection encountered by customers.
Electrical staff in Ho Chi Minh City promptly check the electrical failures at people's houses right after receiving the notice.
Currently, EVNHCMC has also increased 100% of its staff, on duty 24/24h, to be ready to recover power failures as quickly as possible.
In addition, EVNHCMC is also drastically implementing many solutions and programs to propagate and mobilize customers to use electricity safely, economically, and effectively.
In order to avoid local overload causing interruption of power supply, EVNHCMC recommends that customers, offices, and production establishments join hands to use electricity economically and efficiently, turning off unnecessary electrical equipment and limiting the use of high-capacity equipment during peak hours of the power system (from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and from 8:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. daily); do not use many electrical appliances at the same time to avoid overloading the grid and also prevent the risk of fire and explosion in power grids, power stations, and residential areas as well.
