EVNSPC energizes the project of 110kV outgoing feeder of Phan Ri 2 220kV substation

On July 28, 2020, the Southern Power Grid Project Management Board (under the Southern Power Corporation - EVNSPC), Binh Thuan Power Company (Binh Thuan PC) performed the acceptance test and energized the project of 110kV outgoing feeder of Phan Ri 2 220kV substation (Tuy Phong district, Binh Thuan province).

The project has a total investment cost of nearly VND 52 billion, of which EVNSPC is the project investor, Ninh Thuan PC is the management and operation unit.

The project is composed of the following items: Newly building a 4 – circuit 110kV transmission line, stretching from the 110kV feeder bay of Phan Ri 2 220kV substation to the last stop of the newly built 4 circuits near the existing Phan Ri 110kV substation.

In which, 2 circuits will connect to Phan Ri - Luong Son 110kV power line and 2 circuits will connect to Phan Ri - Dai Ninh Hydropower Plant 110kV power line.

As for the 110kV line route going through Hoa Minh commune, Tuy Phong district, the total length is 3.657km.

According to Mr. Nguyen Van Ngoc - Deputy Director of the Southern Power Grid Project Management Board, the completed project will contribute to absorbing more than 250MWp of power from renewable energy projects in Binh Thuan province.

It is known that the project of 110kV outgoing feeder of Phan Ri 2 220kV substation is an important and urgent project to evacuate power from renewable energy plants; at the same time, it will improve the transmission capacity of the 110kV power grid in Ninh Thuan - Binh Thuan provinces. Thereby, the project will make an important contribution to ensuring electricity supply to the South and have an important indication in the economic operation of the power system.

In the coming time, EVNSPC will make efforts to complete more 110kV transmission line projects in Ninh Thuan and Binh Thuan provinces on schedule to efficiently transmit additional power from renewable energy sources to the power system. However, in order to speed up these projects, it is necessary to gain consensus and support from all levels of local authorities and local people, especially in relation to site clearance problems.
