EVNSPC achieved the EDGE Global Gender Equality Certificate
This is the third unit of EVN to receive this certificate, after Ho Chi Minh City Power Corporation (2018) and Power Generation Corporation 3 (2020).
Receiving the EDGE Certificate has confirmed the regimes and policies of EVN in general and EVNSPC in particular towards the development of gender equality as well as the commitment of EVNSPC leaders in developing gender equality work at EVNSPC.
Implementing the goal of building a gender equality environment and developing women's empowerment, implementing Document No. 4347/EVN-TCNS dated 10 August 2019 of EVN on assessment of the EDGE gender equality certificate; in which assigning EVNSPC to be one of the five units of EVN to coordinate with the Vietnam Business Network to support the development of women's empowerment (VBCWE) to conduct the EDGE global gender equality assessment, EVNSPC has actively coordinated with VBCWE to implement the steps of the assessment process: training, instructing units, communicating about the benefits of EDGE certification; data collection; employee survey ...
To receive EDGE certification, EVNSPC experienced the process of surveying more than 21,310 employees throughout EVNSPC with a survey completion rate of more than 79%, evaluating policy and implementing gender equality according to EDGE standards. This whole process was audited and verified by Intertek - an independent auditor from the UK, a branch in Vietnam.
Through the process of surveying and evaluating data collected from EVNSPC as well as auditing implementation documents, EVNSPC is recognized for achieving gender equality in human resources, effectively implementing policies and actions on gender equality.
In the assessed areas, up to 83% of EVNSPC's employees (both male and female) surveyed said that they have equal opportunities for promotion; 83% on the gender equality scale of recruitment; 90% of employees (both men and women) said that flexible working policy as well as the culture of EVNSPC help employees balance work with family... At the same time, over 90% of staff (including both male and female) surveyed indicated that they have equal job opportunities and wages.
In addition, the auditing unit when performing record audits at EVNSPC also recognized and assessed the efforts of EVNSPC in particular and EVN in general in gender equality work.
