According to the Vietnam Central Power Project Management Board (CPMB - under the National Power Transmission Corporation), the project is still facing a space problem at 101-105-T1 anchor span in Thai Hoa town because two households have not received compensation money even though they have been mobilized three times to accept it. The Chairman of Nghe An Provincial People's Committee required the Thai Hoa People's Committee to issue a construction protection decision from 23 March 2021. The project target is to energize line 2 by the end of March 2021 and line 1 by May 2021.
The 500kV transmission line project connecting Nghi Son 2 Thermal Power Plant to the national power system includes the construction of 39.6km of two 500kV double-circuit lines with 219 locations, connecting Nghi Son 2 Thermal Power Plant (Thanh Hoa) with Nho Quan-Ha Tinh 500kV transmission line circuit 1 and circuit 2; at the same time, construction of phase transposition towers on existing 500kV power lines circuit 1 and circuit 2.
These are urgent grid projects approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No.428/QD-TTg dated 18 March 2016 on the National Power Development Plan for the 2011-2020 period with the vision to 2030. The project was commenced by the National Power Transmission Corporation on 9 April 2018, in coordination with the power generation progress of the Nghi Son 2 BOT Thermal Power Plant.
