The delegation of EVNSPC had a site visit to review the implementation progress of power supply projects for Long Son Petrochemical Complex.
Long Son Petrochemical Complex Project is located in Long Son Petroleum Industrial Park (Vung Tau City), invested by SCG Group (Thailand), situated in the key economic region in the south of Ho Chi Minh City - Bien. Hoa - Vung Tau, adjacent to Cai Mep - Thi Vai port. This is a national key project, having an important indication in the country's socio-economic development strategy in general and of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in particular. It is expected that, by the end of 2022 and early 2023, the project will be put into operation.
Currently, EVNSPC and the relevant units have been implementing power subprojects at Long Son Petrochemical Complex, including 4 subprojects: Long Son 110kV transmission line; LSP Long Son - Long Son 110kV transmission line; 110kV transmission line connecting LSP Long Son and Long Son 110kV substation (2 x 63MVA).
In particular, Long Son 110kV transmission line (5.3km long), with a total investment cost of more than VND 100 billion, is considered to be the "main blood vessel", with the aim of bringing the energy source to operate the most modern and complete petrochemical complex of Vietnam. This subproject has commenced since November 2020, and is expected to be put into operation in the second quarter of 2021.
Once completed, the project will supply electricity to Long Son and Long Huong oil refinery plants, Long Huong island commune, Long Son Industrial Park and supporting industrial facilities; contributing to reducing power loss of the regional power grid, promoting socio-economic development in Long Son region in particular and Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in general, completing the 110kV grid connection, improving the reliability and safety of power supply for the area and ensuring safe power system operation in the area.
Mr. Piboon Sirinantanakul - Deputy General Director of Long Son Petrochemical Complex Project Management Board highly valued EVNSPC's efforts and coordination in resolving problems and difficulties in the process of project implementation; At the same time, it is requested that the Corporation and related units continue to support the PMB in the coming time, urgently and timely complete the energizing of the subprojects according to the power supply schedule, in association with the production lines and structures of the Complex being put into commissioning now.
