According to the Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, up to now, the province has 53 energy projects planned with a total capacity of 4,747MW (of which 15 projects with a total capacity of 377MW have been put into operation, 38 projects with a total capacity of 4,370MW are implementing investment procedures).
In addition, there are over 70 projects with a total capacity of about 10,700MW, which have been submitted by the Provincial People's Committee to the Prime Minister, the Ministry of Industry and Trade for consideration and inclusion in planning in the coming time.
Quang Tri province strives to become the Central region's energy center with a capacity of about 13,000-15,000 MW. By 2025, Quang Tri is striving to achieve a power generation capacity of about 4,000MW and 10,000MW by 2030.
At the conference, investors have recommended Quang Tri province focus on supporting site clearance. This is the problem facing businesses with the most difficulties today because people require land compensation prices much higher than the State's regulations. This obstacle makes projects, especially wind power projects, at risk of delaying progress, causing damage to businesses.
In addition, enterprises also recommended the province and Vietnam Electricity to create favorable conditions for power transmission connection, in order to release wind power capacity in the western mountainous regions of Quang Tri province.

Currently, the project of upgrading the 110kV line of Dong Ha - Lao Bao has basically completed the ground clearance, is under construction and is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2021. The Lao Bao 220kV transformer station project and the 220kV Dong Ha - Lao Bao transmission line still face problems with some foundation pillar casting positions in Huong Hoa, Dakrong and Trieu Phong districts. The units actively coordinate with the local authorities to carry out inventory procedures and apply compensation prices for people located in the project implementation area. EVN wants the locality to actively coordinate and speed up the progress of completing the site hand-over in March 2021.
For investors who are implementing energy projects in Quang Tri, especially 16 wind power projects expected to be put into operation in 2021, it is necessary to report on progress, register for the time of acceptance and testing, connection, etc. EVN will coordinate closely with the related parties and make efforts so that the energy projects that are about to be completed in Quang Tri province will be connected to the power grid on schedule.
