Determined to complete Kien Binh-Phu Quoc 220kV power line project in 2021

This is the direction of Chairman of the Board of Members of Southern Power Corporation (EVNSPC) Nguyen Van Hop at a working session on 17 March 2021, with relevant units to check the implementing progress of the key project of Kien Binh-Phu Quoc 220kV power line and component projects in Phu Quoc island district (Kien Giang province).

According to a report of the Southern Power Project Management Board, up to now, 117/117 undersea electric tower foundations of the project are completed. Currently, construction on the above foundations is in progress with floor implementation and installation of steel towers.

In addition, all items of Nam Phu Quoc 110kV Substation project have been so far basically completed, and the project is expected to be completed on 30 April 2021. However, undercurrents are appearing in the southwest sea, unfavorable developments are causing difficulties for the construction stages, greatly affecting the construction progress, making it difficult to complete before 30 April 2021.

Kien Binh-Phu Quoc 220kV power line project is invested by EVNSPC, including many items at sea and on both sides of the mainland of Phu Quoc, Ha Tien (Kien Giang province).

The project has a total investment of over VND2,212 billion; of which, the two circuits of 220kV overhead line across the sea has a total length of 64.70km.
